Happy Birthday, Milo! Astros give play-by-play man party to remember
With a dedicated bobblehead night, birthday cake and special accolade, Milo Hamilton celebrated his 85th birthday in style on Sunday at Minute Maid Park.
Astros president and CEO George Postolos, GM Jeff Luhnow, broadcaster Bill Brown, former players Jose Cruz, Jimmy Wynn and Larry Dierker and thousands of fans were on hand to celebrate. Milo has been a professional broadcaster for 59 seasons --- and 28 of those have been with the Astros.
During the pregame ceremony, Milo was also added to the Houston Baseball Media Wall of Honor. However, according to Astros radio man Dave Raymond, the celebration may pale in comparison to Hamilton's bash 75 years ago:
We're celebrating Milo's 85th birthday today at MMP. Just told me that his best was #10 when he got a red bike. $14 at the time.
