Here's some video of a retired Ken Griffey Jr. destroying baseballs in the Philippines

Video: Junior crushing homers in Manila

Sometimes, when athletes retire, they get lax on their workout routines. Instead of running five miles, they might eat five steak burritos. Pushups turn into pushup pops. Food = life.

As a result, they lose some of their skills and might look unrecognizable. This, according to the below video, did not happen to Ken Griffey Jr.:

Sure, it's only a year after his retirement in 2011, but still -- the backward hat, the bat wiggle, the power, the joy of playing baseball all seem to be there.

The footage was shot during Griffey's two-day baseball clinic in Manila's Rizal Memorial Baseball Stadium. Spectators claimed that some of the blasts damaged cars and sailed into the nearby tennis center. Again, the clip is from a few years ago and we're not sure why it's popping up now, but we're very glad it did.
