Enrique Hernandez begs Zack Greinke to pretty please with a cherry on top sign with the Dodgers

Jason Heyward is a plus defender with some pop who can hit at the top of your lineup, or protect its heart. David Price is a bona fide ace who was traded at the non-waiver Trade Deadline, so he won't cost your team a compensation pick if you sign him. Chris Davis has hit 127 home runs in his last 447 games.

In a free-agent class like that, how does one make a point of standing tall among the players whose services are currently available at auction? By posting a 1.66 ERA, that's how. 

Dodgers pitcher and NL Cy Young Award hopeful Zack Greinke had one of the best seasons since the Deadball Era and led MLB in ERA, ERA+ and WHIP on his way to an All-Star appearance and a Gold Glove Award. Greinke recently exercised an opt-out clause in his contract, making him a free agent with the likes of Heyward, Price, Davis and Co., but some folks are holding out hope that he starts next season in Dodger blue.
