After nine years, Ichiro Suzuki fan tallies 4000 hits on her 'Ichi-Meter'

Amy Franz's famous Ichi-Meter has kept track of Ichiro Suzuki's hit tally since 2004. On Wednesday night -- the occasion of the outfielder's 4,000th hit -- Franz was there to help him celebrate.

Suzuki has personally thanked Amy for all her support. She's enjoyed the ride, too.

"I've just seen [Ichiro] play a lot of good, amazing baseball," she said. "Just the whole fact that he's so dedicated and focused, he never gets hurt and keeps on trying."

Last stop for the Ichi-Meter? Maybe Cooperstown, Franz said: "If I can get the airfare and tickets, I will be there!"
