In an act of independence (or impulsiveness), this kid re-gifted his foul ball to the ground
This guy does the right thing. He catches a foul ball and gives it to the nearest kid. That's how this stuff works. Good for him for following the baseball fan code.
The kid, clearly, ain't got time for none of that.
He doesn't want your handouts. He's his own man. He wants to break up this man/child foul-ball dichotomy once and for all. The whole thing is just ageism, really. He'll catch his own foul ball, thank you very much.
Thus, much to the horror of the boy's father and the D-Backs broadcast team, he throws the ball away.
It wasn't much of a throw, however, and the ball quickly finds its way back to him, this time in the safe custody of the young man's father -- who isn't letting that ball out of his sight.
Sorry kid. You'll have to fight that fight another day.
