So long, Brohio: Indians say catch ya later, man, to Nick Swisher
So long, Brohio: Indians trade Nick Swisher to Braves

All great empires fall. The Romans, the Han Dynasty. The saying "The sun never sets on the British Empire" seems a bit outdated at this point. On Friday, we mourn the fall of yet another: Brohio.

With the Indians sending Nick Swisher and Michael Bourn (along with cash) to the Braves for Chris Johnson, the reign of Brohio in Cleveland has come to an end.
It began on Jan. 3, 2013, when the Indians signed Swisher as a free agent. He was instantly crowned president of Brohio and ushered in a new era of brosperity:

Just six months into his brohemian presidency came this iconic interview:
(Just imagine the interview Swisher will give when/if he returns to Progressive Field.)
Of course, Brohio grew to the height of its power the same the way any of history's empires cemented its rule: Free T-shirts for its citizens.

Swisher was a bronevolent leader who shared his power:
Residents of #Brohio: I have an urgent announcement about YOUR Governor http://t.co/BHV06Z4JeC
- Nick Swisher (@NickSwisher) February 11, 2014But 2 1/2 years since it was first recognized by the world as a legitimate republic, Brohio belongs to the history books. It did not live the longest of world empires, but it just may have burned the brightest. And just as the Roman Empire gave way to the Byzantine, Brohio will be replaced by ...
Brahlanta.
