This home run is proof that Jake Arrieta doesn't skip leg day (or any other day, for that matter)
This HR is proof that Arrieta doesn't skip leg day
Do you even lift, bro?
Jake Arrieta does and he's not skipping leg day ... or back day or core day or any sort of day you can think of. The guy isn't swole: He's ripped and it's because he switches up his workout every day. Routine is the enemy and Arrieta is beating it into submission.
On Sunday, Arrieta could be seen working on his strength and form on the grass at Wrigley Field before his start against the Pirates.

All that hard work paid off in the form of nine strikeouts and a second-inning homer to help his own cause.

Arrieta -- who already threw a no-hitter earlier this season -- took a perfect game into the seventh inning and got his 21st win of 2015 while lowering his ERA to 1.82 in the 4-0 Cubs win. He ended up surrendering only one hit over seven innings pitched.
We're not saying he's definitely going to win the NL Cy Young Award, but we are saying that -- if we were him -- we'd be clearing off a spot on our mantel, just in case.
