Here's definitive proof that Javier Baez would be the best player in your company softball league
Baez launches monster HR to win Yadi's softball derby
One of the most difficult parts of the transition between professional hardball and recreational softball is remembering that -- for most of us, at least -- swinging up at the ball will produce a can o' corn that Janice from accounting will camp out underneath and haul in without a problem.
Javier Baez, though, is not like most of us.
The Cubs' up-and-coming middle infielder is the stuff legends are made of: He has the MLB logo tattooed on the back of his neck, hit the game-winning home run in his MLB debut and hit a home run straight out of Wrigley Field:

Last weekend, Baez joined an All-Star lineup of MLB talent in San Juan, Puerto Rico to take part in Yadier Molina's charity softball game and home run derby. Robinson Cano, Edgar Martinez, Salvador Perez, Rafael Furcal, Albert Pujols, Jorge Posada and a few more current and former superstars turned out for the event, which benefitted Molina's charity, Foundation 4.
Baez took home the home run derby title by launching a host of monster dingers over the left-field fence:
Carlos Gomez, Carlos Beltran, Francisco Lindor, Francisco Cervelli and other MLB players tried, but could not match Baez's power in the soft-toss softball event.
With all that power in one place, you'd think they were researching the effectiveness of homers as a renewable energy source, rather than just having fun while raising money for a good cause.
