J.D. makes a home run-saving grab, Price is relieved
J.D. Martinez has been a revelation at the plate this season, helping anchor the Tigers lineup with a .317/.360/.564 line and 23 HR. Turns out, he can play a little defense too.
With the Tigers and White Sox deadlocked at zero in the top of the fifth, Josh Phegley sent a deep drive to left field. Fortunately Martinez was there to make the leaping grab. And David Price was very glad that he was, letting loose a sigh of relief that is usually reserved for "Oh thank God, my boss never received that 2 am voicemail I left."
I think even a five-year-old Alf-shirt wearing Price could appreciate the play, too. That's right, David Price has always been cool.
