Jeff Daniels and Kevin Pollak engaged in an epic Tigers-Giants Twitter duel during Game 1

Kevin Pollak is from San Francisco and a Giants fan. Jeff Daniels is from Michigan and a Tigers fan. Twitter is a microblogging and social networking service you may have heard of. The three came together on Wednesday for a spirited fan battle during Game 1 of the World Series.
First, Pollak, who attended high school with Giants pitching coach Dave Righetti, showed the world that he was in attendance, chatting with the team and kicking it with his brother on the field during BP:
My brother & I on the field for a little BP @ #Game1 of #WorldSeries. SO psyched for this. OMG, there's McCovey! lockerz.com/s/255847688

By contrast, Daniels was witnessing the proceedings from afar, and mentioned that his TV analysis produced an intriguing offensive idea for his squad:
Glued to MLB Network. Fascinated by Leyland hitting grounders. He looks focused. Nice, easy swing. Pinch hitting option.

As the Giants built a big lead, Pollak commented that the Majors' best starter surrendering an RBI single to a pitcher with a career .097/.146/.097 line didn't seem to augur well for Detroit ... or, possibly, humanity:
Not to put too fine a point on Zito's hit/RBI, but that may've been one of the signs of the apocalypse...

Meanwhile, Daniels reached to find a positive in his team's offensive performance:
We HAVE been on base every inning which isn't the same as scoring but it's all I got right now.

By the game's conclusion, Pollak was concerned that the Giants' scoring outburst was turning into overkill, wondering if they remembered to save runs for the rest of the series:
Yeah, now it's too much. Seriously. We gotta play again tomorrow... #MLB.com

And finally, following Pablo Sandoval's three-homer night, Daniels resigned himself to having unsettling nightmares about a martial arts-practicing Chinese bear:
If you want me, I'll be having a nightmare about a Panda.
