Jim Thome tears up as Indians unveil his statue at Progressive Field

Jim Thome is one of the greats. During his 22-year career in the bigs, Thome clobbered 612 home runs (good for seventh all-time) and drew 1,747 walks while maintaining a .276 lifetime average. You can take a few seconds to marvel at those numbers. We'll wait ...

Thome's career started with 12 years with the Indians and wrapped up with a second stop in Philadelphia and a 28-game run with the Orioles. On Saturday, though, everything came back full circle as Thome officially retired as an Indian as the club unveiled a statue of his likeness at Progressive Field.

Former Tribe and Phillies manager Charlie Manuel said a few words before Thome pulled the tarp off the bronze beauty, tearing up in the process.
