With a mustache and goggles, Joe Kelly looks like he's wearing a disguise in every start

Joe Kelly looks like he's wearing a disguise

Given the massive success of roughly the 18th "Mission Impossible" movie this year, the American public has proven that it still loves a good disguise.

Unfortunately, Joe Kelly does not appear to be quite as good as Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt.

As you may have noticed, Kelly has recently been taking the mound with a thin mustache across his lips and goggles across his eyes, looking every bit like he's created his own joke store disguise.

But if Kelly were trying to fool batters, viewers and his teammates, he's made a few mistakes. Namely:

- He's still taking the mound when Joe Kelly is expected to start

- He's still wearing Joe Kelly's jersey

- He's still answering to Joe, Kelly, Joe Kelly, or any combination therein.

- And no one believes him when he says, "Ohhhh. You said Joe Kelly? I thought you said Mo Belly ... which is my name. Hence why I answered to Joe Kelly even though that's not my name."

While the disguise itself may not fool people, Kelly's work on the mound did. Facing the red-hot Blue Jays on Wednesday night, the right-hander pitched 5 2/3 innings, giving up one run and striking out five as the Red Sox went on to win, 10-4. It was also the starter's eighth consecutive victory, making him the first Red Sox starter to win that many in a row since Pedro Martinez won nine straight in 1999.

Finally, if you were wondering what he would look like with a disguise on top of his current look, well, here you go:
