Joe Mauer and Brian Dozier turn a collision into a beautiful, heartfelt moment
Joe Mauer, Brian Dozier collide, hug and make the out
When Indians catcher Brett Hayes popped up a pitch in the bottom of the second inning against the Twins, it was very nearly a recipe for disaster. The ball sailed right in between first and second base -- right in between Brian Dozier and Joe Mauer.
The infielders hustled toward the middle and ran right into each other. But instead of a collision that sent them both tumbling to the ground, they embraced in a hug that should leave no doubt that Mauer and Dozier are truly the best of workplace proximity associates.

Oh, and Mauer made the out, too. Because even during grand expressions of friendship, there's work to be done.
Such a moment surely deserves another look:

And as if to emphasize just how much they love working together, the two combined again for the final out of the inning, nabbing Jose Ramirez on a 4-3 ground out.
