Joe Mauer and his wife are having real-life Minnesota twins

Actual. Minnesota. Twins.

Joe Mauer announced Thursday that he and his wife, Maddie, are expecting twins. Major congrats to the couple.

"It's unbelievable," Mauer said. "What a blessing. I'm just very excited and very happy.

No word yet if the pair of offspring will be eligible to join the 40-man roster immediately, but this still has to be the ultimate show of dedication from a player to his team. I mean, is Prince Fielder raising a family of tigers? Do you ever see Sergio Romo hanging out with any giants? No. But Joe Mauer will soon be father to two small humans born from the same pregnancy.
