Joe Mauer makes dream come true for twins suffering from cerebral palsy
Joe Mauer is a Minnesota Twin, his wife is pregnant with twins and on Wednesday, the five-time All-Star played catch with Dathan and Braden Miller -- a pair of 5-year-old twins.
"I got twins on the way and it was fun to see those kids at five and talk to their parents a little bit," Mauer said. "It's kind of fun to see what I'm about to get into."
The two boys were diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of one, a condition stemming from complications at birth.
Other Twins players also participated in Target Field's "Picnic at the Park," an event part of Minnesota's "Hope Week."
