Something about Jonathan Herrera's helmet seems off
When Jonathan Herrera came to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded during the Cubs' 4-1 win over the Braves on Sunday, the outcome seemed like a foregone conclusion. There was something about Herrera that suggested he would put the Cubs on the board. He had a glow. He had an atmosphere around him usually reserved for superheroes. He had an askew "C" on the front of his helmet.
Herrera knocked the first pitch he saw into center field, driving in two runs and giving the Cubs a lead they would never relinquish -- proving that what to us plebeians might appear as a humorous helmet malfunction (not Herrera's first) was actually an intentional superhero emblem.
