Bautista tries to beat Yankees with his arm
Jose Bautista's nickname is Joey Bats. This is a good nickname -- for Bautista can, in fact, bat. He has 36 home runs this year and 282 for his career. He hits them long and he hits them good.

But during Tuesday's Yankees-Blue Jays game, Bautista decided to put aside his bat and show us all he has another, possibly more effective weapon in his arsenal: his arm.
With the Yankees threatening and looking to move a runner to third base in the seventh inning, Baustista uncorked a seed to Josh Donaldson.

The powerful toss was likely headed out of the stadium and into Lake Ontario, until Donaldson corralled it and made an incredible tag on Dustin Ackley. The Yankees were held scoreless in the inning.

And then, down one run in the ninth inning, the right fielder reared back for another superhuman throw to cut down Chris Young at the plate.

Dioner Navarro would then tie the game up at 3 in the bottom of the inning.
But, in the bottom of the 10th, Greg Bird gave the Yanks a 6-3 lead (and eventual 6-4 victory) via a three-run homer.

New York is now just 2.5 games back of first-place Toronto in the AL East with the rubber match set for Wednesday night, where Joey Bats (Joey Throws?) and more incredibly exciting pennant-race baseball awaits ...
