Kasey Keller might be the ideal soccer player to throw a first pitch since he was allowed to use his hands

Retired soccer player Kasey Keller threw out the first pitch at Safeco Field Wednesday. Keller is in his first year of retirement after playing 20 professional seasons as a goalkeeper in England, Spain, Germany and most recently the United States with Seattle Sounders FC. Keller was named U.S. Soccer Athlete of the Year in 1997, 1999, and 2005 and was named to four U.S. World Cup rosters in his career.

Originally from Olympia, Wash., Keller has been a Mariners fan his entire life and even followed the Mariners during his playing days in Europe.
