Relive the greatness of Ken Griffey Jr.'s 11th-inning, walk-off, inside-the-park home run

WATCH: Ken Griffey Jr.'s walk-off, inside-the-park HR

Over the course of his 22-year MLB career, Ken Griffey Jr. hit 630 home runs. He hit them to left field, right field and center field. He hit them high and far, he hit them hard and fast. He even hit one off the warehouse in Baltimore if you're counting Home Run Derby dingers.

But on Aug. 20, 2001, The Kid hit a home run unlike the other 629 taters of his career. This one is different from the rest because it came in extra innings, was of the walk-off variety ... and it was an inside-the-parker.

Griffey and the Reds were locked in a 4-4 tie with the Cardinals heading into the bottom of the 11th. The game had gone into extras with a score of 2-2, but each team added an additional two runs in the 10th. It looked like the game may never end ... until Griffey stepped up to the plate with one out and no runners on.

He launched a fly ball deep to left-center field. It went over the head of All-Star center fielder Jim Edmonds, which is a feat in and of itself. But the ball caromed sharply down the warning track toward left field and past Kerry Robinson who was running over to make the play.

Griffey made it all the way around to score and did so after not hustling out of the box and without much of a play at the plate.
