Kevin Pillar confirms what we've all suspected: He is, in fact, the outfield Superman

Pillar calls himself Superman, says he can fly

In hindsight, it should have been obvious. The evidence that Kevin Pillar is not of this world was everywhere. It was there when he openly defied to gravity to rob a base hit in August:

Or when he stole a home run from a poor unsuspecting hitter in April:

Or when he won a battle of strength with the outfield wall a few weeks later:

And yet, we remained naive, blind to the fact that Pillar's exploits could not be explained by the laws of man. Now, though, thanks to some dogged journalism prior to Game 2 of the ALDS on Saturday night, we finally have the truth. First, Pillar was asked if he felt like he could fly in the outfield. "I can fly," Pillar said, as a nation collectively gasped. Realizing his facade was about to crack, though, Pillar caught himself: "... for a short amount of time," he added.

But then, the bombshell. "Have you ever dressed up as Superman?" Pillar was asked. "I don't have to ... because I am Superman." Pillar will presumably still be allowed to play in the game tonight, as MLB rules don't expressly forbid Supermen from competing. Still, how did we not see it coming? Especially with photos like this clearly undoctored one:

Always remember: The truth is out there.
