10-year-old Giants fan makes awesome catch to save dad from foul ball

Kid makes impressive catch to save dad from foul ball

Taking the wise-but-somewhat-dated words of Marlon Brando's Don Vito Corleone into consideration, it appears one young Giants fan grew up pretty quickly on Sunday when the Phillies visited AT&T Park in San Francisco.

With a man on first and two out in the bottom of the second, Brandon Crawford bounced a Chad Billingsley pitch toward the seats just past where the screen would prevent it from reaching the stands. As the ball caromed right toward the grill of an unsuspecting father, the man's 10-year-old son stuck out his glove and made one heck of a play:

John Pizzi of San Anselmo, Calif., saved his dad's money-maker and secured himself a souvenir all with a brilliant demonstration of quick reflexes. Pizzi said that he didn't even think about making the play: he simply saw the ball coming and reacted. He and his dad were all smiles afterward.

(It probably didn't hurt that the Giants won, 4-2.)
