Klay Thompson fires first-pitch strike for Athletics
Golden State Warriors guard Klay Thompson comes from a family of athletes: His brother Trayce plays for the White Sox, his father Mychal was the No. 1 overall pick in the 1978 NBA Draft and his mother Julie was a collegiate volleyball player.
So it's not really much of a surprise that the guy can pitch.
Klay was on hand to throw out the first pitch on the unofficial early 2000s nostalgia night at the Coliseum as the Athletics hosted the Giants and former teammates Barry Zito Tim Hudson squared off.
His showing was so impressive that John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle joked that it registered faster on the gun than either starter.
First pitches on radar guns: Barry Zito 85 mph, Tim Hudson 87 mph, Klay Thompson 89 mph. #sfgiants #athletics #warriors

We're not saying that we know Klay could be the next big two-sport star. We're saying that we don't know that he couldn't be the next big two-sport star.
