Kris Bryant launches first home run, announces impending rule of planet Earth
Kris Bryant goes deep for his first career home run
Kris Bryant has by no means been a disappointment in his first month in the Show -- the once and future super-prospect is slashing .278/.422/.361 so far, all while looking even better than advertised at the hot corner for the resurgent Cubs.
Which is all well and good. Except that, heading into Saturday, one major milestone had managed to elude Bryant: He was still looking for his first Major League home run (you know, of the non-Little League variety). Ordinarily, that wouldn't be a particularly big deal -- plenty of first-year players go three weeks between home runs -- but Kris Bryant is, in a word, not ordinary.
You see, Kris Bryant hits home runs. He hits lots of them. It's kind of his thing. So the world watched and waited, and waited, and waited ... and can now confirm that yes, it was all totally worth it. Remember this, for May 9, 2015, shall henceforth be known as the unofficial dawning Kris Bryant's reign over us all:
Your move, MLB.
