A lonely nation waits for Matt Williams' Babe Ruth impression following Nats' 10th straight win
A nation waits for Matt Williams' Ruth impression
While the Nationals were in Houston at the end of April, Matt Williams was asked if he would re-do his famous Babe Ruth impression if the Nationals won ten games in a row.
After responding in the affirmative, everyone in the Washington area, nay, everyone in the world was crossing their fingers and hoping for the artiste to revisit his greatest role. After all, if you've ever seen Williams' spot-on recreation of Ruth's home run trot with what looks like a honey baked ham stuffed in the front of his shirt, you've simply been dying to see it again.

After the Nationals won their tenth game in a row last night, their fifth on a walk-off thanks to Denard Span's alter-ego, it was time for Williams to pay up. Only problem: the manager is currently refusing. In a post-game press conference Williams said:
Which makes sense. If the Nationals are pushing so hard to win just so they can get a glimpse of the Ruth impression, it's only fitting to keep the proverbial carrot in front of the team. But as time goes on and if the club keeps winning, Williams will have to offer up something better. Like the re-animated corpse of Babe Ruth doing his own home run trot.
