Lorenzo Cain accidentally names newborn son after former teammate

Lorenzo Cain names baby after former teammate

Lorenzo Cain has spent the past week and a half dazzling the baseball world with his glove out in center field for the Royals, who are set to take on the Orioles in the 2014 ALCS.

But Cain's been experiencing some milestones off the diamond as well as his wife Jenny recently gave birth to a baby boy, Cameron Loe Cain.

Funny thing about that is that the Cain's inadvertantly named their newborn son after one of Lorenzo's former teammates.

Back in 2010, Cain made his Major League debut for the Brewers. His first at-bat came in the ninth inning as he pinch hit for ... pitcher Kameron Loe. According to USA Today, the Cain's chose "Cameron" because they had always liked that name and used "Loe" as the middle name in reference to Lorenzo's nickname on the Royals, "LoCain."

So, the Kameron Loe connection is just a coincidence, but if I were him I'd walk around calling myself "The Godfather" anyway.
