Mariano meets with Mets fans, staff at Citi Field
On Monday, Mariano Rivera met with select Mets season ticket holders and Amazin' staff before the first of this week's four Subway Series games. Mo took questions in the Jackie Robinson Rotunda -- appropriately, the last player to wear number 42 sat in front of the "42" sculpture that honors the Brooklyn Dodgers legend.
One moment that many Mets fans will never forget is the final out of the 2000 World Series. Rivera was asked if he thought Mike Piazza's game-ending fly out ever had a chance of making it out of the park. Mariano answered, "No," without hesitation, and everyone shared a laugh with one of the greatest pitchers in baseball.
