Young Mariners fan is emotionally distraught at Brad Miller being traded to the Rays

Loss is built right into being a sports fan. Not even our very favorite heroes can play forever, and every year can't be our year. But as little kids, that can be awfully hard to internalize -- what do you mean the only team I've ever known can't just stay together?  

Which is why we'll all probably identify with the young Mariners fan in the video above. His favorite player, Brad Miller -- "he had my last name!" -- was traded to Tampa Bay back in November, and he needs to tell his dad that he is not happy about it. Now, he's faced with an existential dilemma: "I can't decide whether to root for the Mariners or the Rays."

Thankfully, though, things are going to be OK. The Rays are sending him his very own Brad Miller jersey, and besides, there's always a bright side: At least his two other favorites, Kyle Seager and Mike Zunino, are still around.
