Mariners predict Seahawks Super Bowl appearance, want to carpool to Arizona

Mariners ask Seahawks to road trip to AZ in February

Ah, the open road. The wind in your hair, the soothing sound of the engine, holding it until the next rest stop even though you drank two cups of coffee and a 32-oz. Gatorade in the past three hours ... there's nothing quite as satisfying as the perfect road trip.

That's exactly what the Mariners have in mind now that the Seahawks have clinched a playoff berth out of the NFC West. Russell Wilson and Co. took it to the Cardinals (of the Arizona persuasion), securing a 35-6 victory on Sunday Night Football and moving into a tie for first place.

The M's were monitoring the progress of their fellow Seattle franchise and suggested carpooling in February to Arizona, where fans could presumably catch some Spring Training action and bring some of that 12th Man magic to Glendale for Super Bowl XLIX.

Super Bowl XLIX is slated for Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015 and pitchers and catchers will report less than three weeks later, so that sounds like a wonderful way for Seattle fans to spend a sabbatical. I'll make a playlist. Who wants to bring snacks?
