Meet three of Japan's most passionate Twins fans

Die-hard Twins fans in Japan? You betcha

With Minneapolis and Nishinomiya separated by over 6,000 miles (and the largest ocean on Earth), you may think Twins fans are hard to come by in Japan -- but then you meet this family of Minnesota die-hards taking in the action of the MLB All-Stars' exhibition opener in Japan.

The family is particularly fond of Joe Mauer and Kirby Puckett, but we bet they enjoyed seeing current Twin Eduardo Nunez and former Twins great Justin Morneau out on the diamond.

So, how did this clan of Twins fans end up on the other side of the Pacific?

Dad Will was a U.S. Marine stationed in Japan 24 years ago, and after spending a few years in the U.S. for college, he went back and has taught English there ever since. Lucky for them, the Japan All-Star Series is the perfect treatment for "baseball withdrawals" during the offseason.

And the game had fortuitous timing: Mom's birthday.

As Will put it: "What better way to celebrate her birthday than take a game in?"
