Mets fans say their final goodbye to Chipper Jones with a standing ovation
Sunday marked the final time notorious Mets nemesis Chipper Jones visited Flushing as a player. Although he was not in the starting lineup, the Braves third baseman received a show of respect from the New York faithful and any Braves fans in attendance at Citi Field.
Before the first pitch, Chipper delivered the Braves' lineup card to the umpires and tipped his cap toward the crowd. He later entered the game in the 9th inning and drew a walk. After he was lifted for a pinch-runner, the Citi Field crowd showered Chipper with cheers and a standing ovation.
