Mets hit 3 homers in one inning for first time since, well, Carlos Gomez was playing right field

Mets hit 3 HRs in 1 inning, first time since 2007

The Mets hit three home runs in one inning during their 5-2 victory over the Nationals on Sunday. Curtis Granderson and Daniel Murhpy went back-to-back and then Lucas Sylvester Coddmeyer III Duda added another after a Yoenis Cespedes single.

It's the first time the Mets have hit three home runs in an inning since June 7, 2007, when Carlos Delgado, David Wright and Paul Lo Duca went back-to-back-to-back against Phillies starter Cole Hamels:

And who was the starting right fielder that day for New York? Carlos Gomez: the man whose near-trade back to Queens ignited an incredibly-wild week for the Mets. So, what does it all mean? Will the Mets make another postseason run, but fall flat at the end like in '07? Will the Astros play the Mets in the World Series and will Carlos Gomez hit three home runs in one inning all by himself? Was Carlos Gumez (Carlos Gomez's gum-throwing alter-ego) actually the one traded to the Mets and is he living in the home-run apple -- thus allowing this three-home-run-inning to come to fruition?

Your guess is as good as ours.
