Miguel Cabrera wins el Festival del Jonrón 2012, adds international trophy to growing collection

The 2012 Major League season is long concluded, but Miguel Cabrera's quest to accumulate every baseball-related trophy in existence rolls on.

The Tigers third baseman, whose haul over the last few months already included an MVP, a Triple Crown, a Silver Slugger and a pair of Gibbys, took home a giant Pepsi logo perched on five silver bats Monday night after winning El Festival del Jonrón 2012 in his hometown of Maracay, Venezuela.

Cabrera smashed thirteen homers over three rounds to win the derby, defeating seven fellow Venezuelans including Pablo Sandoval and Bobby Abreu.

"Me siento contento de estar aquí, de haberle dado esta alegría a la afición y de que el trofeo se quede en Maracay," Miggy said after the event.

Loosely translated: "I am happy to be here, bringing joy to the fans and keeping this trophy in Maracay."
