Mike Ditka once gave a very, very enthusiastic rendition of 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game'

Remember Ditka singing Take Me Out to the Ball Game?

NFL coaching legend Mike Ditka knows the one true secret to good singing. Sure, pitch and tone and whether or not you can hit a high "C" are important, technically. But if you want to turn in a riveting rendition of a song like "Take Me Out to the Ball Game," all you need is … ENTHUSIASM.

And Ditka's performance at Wrigley Field 17 years ago Sunday had oodles and oodles of enthusiasm. You don't even need to hear him to experience it:

But, you really should hear him. The former Bears head coach sings as if he's yelling plays to his quarterback half of a football field away, and at the end he literally wilts. It is a truly classic performance of "Take Me Out to the Ball Game."

So, remember July 5, 1998. Music hasn't been the same since.
