Mike Napoli calls Elvis Andrus' Abe Lincoln beard 'terrible' and 'horrendous'

Few people in baseball know the power of a solid beard better than Red Sox catcher Mike Napoli. After two years with the Rangers, Napoli took his talents to Fenway Park where he and his motley crew of Red Sox sported some serious facial hair on their way to becoming World Series Champions.

Napoli recently spoke with the guys at KRLD-FM 105.3 in Texas to preview the Sox-Rangers series that started Monday night (Boston took the first game 5-1). He used the opportunity to talk some trash about Elvis Andrus' efforts in the beard department.

"Elvis' beard is terrible, by the way. Horrendous. He cuts half of his chin off, too. I was just up there getting on him about it. Yeah, it's terrible. He looks like Abe Lincoln. He has to cut that thing off. It's so bad, it's almost embarrassing. I can't even look at him, it's so bad."

The dig demonstrates a change of heart for Napoli, who came out in support of the thing growing on Andrus' chin when the Rangers shortstop first started rocking the beard back in January.
