Will Mike Trout and Bryce Harper become the first Rookie of the Year duo to win the MVP together?
Trout, Harper to share ROY, MVP stages?
In the history of MLB's Rookie of the Year Award, there has never been an instance in which a year's winning duo later reunited to win their league's MVP Awards at the same time as well.
But this year, we could see the first time two ballplayers who won the ROY Awards together go on to win MVP Awards together, too. On Nov. 12, 2012, Mike Trout won the AL Rookie of the Year Award and Bryce Harper won the NL Rookie of the Year Award.
Three years later, they're each finalists for their league's MVP Award.
Trout -- who already has one MVP and two second-place finishes under his belt -- hit 41 home runs and led the AL in slugging percentage and OPS this season while dazzling folks with his play in center field:
Harper's 2015 campaign was really his coming out party. He led the NL in on-base percentage and slugging percentage, becoming the youngest player in history to hit 40 homers and draw 120 walks in the same season.
