Minor League team loses after recording walk-off hit

Two outs. Bases loaded. Bottom of the ninth inning. And it's a base hit up the middle! The Lugnuts win! They win! They ... don't?

The Lansing Lugnuts, a Class-A affiliate for the Blue Jays, thought they had a walk-off hit during Monday's game against the Great Lakes Loons. But there was one problem. The runner advancing from first to second wanted to celebrate. He forgot about touching the next base. Well, baseball rules state that no run is allowed to score while a player is being forced out to end an inning. So that game-winning run ended up not really being a game-winning run. Skip to the 1:18 mark for the full play:

Lansing ended up losing the game 5-4 in the 10th inning. But don't feel so bad, Lugnuts fans. At least an NL pennant wasn't on the line.
