5 MLB players who are probably pumped they can stream the PGA TOUR from anywhere
5 MLB players excited about PGA TOUR LIVE

Sam Byrd is the only guy to ever play in a World Series and The Masters, but there's no shortage of stuff that lives in the intersection of the baseball and golf Venn diagram: Paul O'Neill's hole-in-one at Michael Jordan's tournament, Derek Jeter playing 18 with the leader of the free world, Tiger Woods hustling John Smoltz on the regular ...
Seriously, the list is endless. And the PGA TOUR -- with all of its punch-out-through-the-trees, storm-back-on-Sunday, 36-foot-back-door-putt-from-the-frog-hair action -- is now available on your mobile device thanks to the new PGA TOUR LIVE streaming service. Which current MLB player seem most likely to take advantage? Let's get to speculating:
Matt Cain
Remember when Matt Cain threw the first perfect game in Giants history way back in 2012? Well, PGA TOUR golfer Dustin Johnson threw out the first pitch at AT&T Park that night, so Cain's pregame routine featured him driving golf balls out into McCovey Cove.
Also, Rory McIlroy threw out the ceremonial first pitch the day before, so it's safe to say that there's a strong positive correlation between Cain thinking about golf and tossing the baseball efficiently.
Bryce Harper
When he's not launching balls into the upper decks of stadiums across the country, Bryce Harper spends his free time driving golf balls 340 yards down the fairway, Happy Gilmore-style.
Harper even showed off his affinity for golf by recreating that iconic Tiger Woods commercial, except with a bat and a baseball during BP.

Matt Holliday
Golfer Rickie Fowler is from Murrieta Valley. And a #Cardinals fan. he explains why: http://t.co/UEY1SSjNl7
- J.P. Hoornstra (@jphoornstra) October 16, 2013The new availability of PGA TOUR footage probably hits close to home for Holliday, who counts professional golfer Rickie Fowler among his close friends.
Fowler lives near the Cardinals Spring Training facility in Jupiter, Fla., and has gone fishing with Holliday and his kids. Now Holliday can track his buddy's progress on The PGA TOUR even if his hotel doesn't have The Golf Channel.
Jon Lester
@Titleist 1st hole-in-one today on the 7th at Estancia! @Evan3Longoria was an eye witness! Look out @Keegan_Bradley! pic.twitter.com/gPTtyPVdbA
- Jon Lester (@JLester34) February 12, 2015Down at Spring Training this year, Lester went golfing with some fellow baseballers, including Rays third baseman Evan Longoria. According to eyewitness testimony, Lester hit a hole-in-one when his ball took a fortunate bounce right into the cup.
With the new streaming service, Lester can study the mechanics of the best of the best so his next ace is more skill than luck.
David Ortiz
You know the old saying: Catch a man a golf ball and he'll play for a day, but teach a man how to golf and he'll ... hilariously shank a shot on his first swing ever like Manny Ramirez did.

That GIF will echo through all eternity. I want to wear it around on a shirt. That footage came from David Ortiz's annual charity golf tournament, which also brought us this gem of Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez (man, it's still fun to type that) doin' his thang:

With all that competition turning out every year, we're guessing Big Papi will want to digest as much golf as he can in preparation for the big day.
