MLB stars taped a Japanese TV special and it looked exactly how you'd expect
MLB stars taped a Japanese TV special

Remember that scene in Lost in Translation when Bill Murray films an episode of a Japanese talk show?
Now imagine that with less hugging but a lot more Robinson Cano, and you'll have a pretty good idea of how four MLB players spent Saturday morning in Tokyo.
Cano joined Jose Altuve, Chris Carter and Justin Morneau to tape a special MLB edition of Fuji TV's Junk Sports talk show, taking questions from several Japanese comedians on a panel that also featured Nori Aoki, Junichi Tazawa and Takashi Saito.
Junk Sports is apparently a transliteration of a Japanese term and not a comment on the quality of athletic competition in Japan, but the show did feature a psychedelic set and an extremely overcaffeinated host.
Even with a language barrier -- the MLB players received simultaneous translations in their earpieces -- the comedians succeeded in roasting Cano for his custom gold Ferrari and Carter for this outfit.

Altuve took some ribbing after asking whether Japanese people have swimming pools (they do, if they make pro athlete money) and Morneau joked that he's lucky to be old enough that his rookie hazing photos don't exist on the internet.

The special is set to air on Fuji TV next month -- hopefully after a heavy dose of post-production visual effects -- so be sure to set your DVR for, uh, Junk Sports.
