Mo'ne Davis is getting her own Disney Channel movie
In what is the most no-brainer decision Hollywood has ever made, Mo'ne Davis will be the subject of an upcoming feature-length film.
Home to such classics as "Halloweentown" and "High School Musical," the Disney Channel will develop a biopic based on Davis' life titled "Throw Like Mo." It doesn't appear that Davis will star as herself -- though consider this our petition to make that happen -- but she will serve as a consultant, according to Variety.
"A year ago, I never would have thought that Disney Channel would make a movie about me," Davis said.
There aren't many known plot details yet, but the screenwriters have plenty to mine from the past year and a half.
Obviously, there'll be her sensational performance in the Little League World Series. Hopefully, a recreation of her NBA All-Star game performance will also be featured. Will any of her many accolades -- Sports Illustrated cover, AP Female Athlete of the Year -- make it in? What about her turn on the Harlem Globetrotters?
And will this be the first Disney Channel film ever nominated for an Oscar? Based on Mo'ne's record, we wouldn't be surprised.
