Mural honoring CC Sabathia's 200th win comes to Yankee Stadium
In honor of CC Sabathia's 200th win, a 200-baseball mural sponsored by Brand Jordan/Nike will tour Boys & Girls Clubs throughout the Bronx. But its first stop? Yankee Stadium.
The #CC200 mural was put together by children who benefit from Sabathia's PitCCh In Foundation. The youngsters installed the first 150 of 200 baseballs; foundation supporters, as well as CC and the Sabathia family, put the final 50 in place. The "pinstripes" on the mural are hand-written words about Sabathia and memorable quotes from the starter.
"The mural is unbelievable ... I couldn't ask for a better way to celebrate it," said Sabathia, who was thrilled to have kids from his foundation on hand to celebrate with him.
Yankees general manager Brian Cashman, the man who brought CC to the Bronx, also stopped by to install a baseball.
"CC's the best. Nobody does it better than CC. Talk about a man that gives back, and CC is that man," Cashman said.
