The 1990 Reds were unlikely World Series winners, claiming just 91 regular season victories before sweeping the heavily favored Athletics to claim Cincinnati's fifth championship ring.

The Reds got big offensive performances that year out of Eric Davis, Barry Larkin and Chris Sabo, as well as solid pitching from starters like Jose Rijo and Tom Browning. But three members of the team's relief corps become folk heroes with an evocative nickname: The Nasty Boys.

Norm Charlton, Rob Dibble and Randy Myers pitched 8 2/3 combined innings in the World Series and didn't give up an unearned run between them. Myers was on the mound for the final out:

All three were in Cincinnati on Monday to throw out a ceremonial first pitch before the Cubs-Reds game at Great American Ball Park.
