New Jersey native Todd Frazier walks to plate using 'The Sopranos' theme song
James Gandolfini passed away at the age of 51 on Wednesday, and the outpouring of love, respect and appreciation has been incredible. Gandolfini appeared on Broadway and starred in a number of films, but is best known for his role as mob boss Tony Soprano.
I'm not from New Jersey. Gandolfini (and Tony) are. But if I could pick one person to stand for the state's tough-loving, no-nonsense, I'll-chase-you-down-in-my-car-and-tell-people-we-just-had-coffee attitude, it would be the Westwood, N.J., native.
Todd Frazier, also from the Garden State, decided to honor Gandolfini by playing "The Sopranos" theme song as he stepped up to the dish on Thursday. Well played, Mr. Frazier. Well played, indeed:
In honor of james gandolfini (tony soprano)who suddenly passed away Illbe using his song at bat during game 2morrow #jerseyboy #rutgers #rip
