NY Islanders (and diehard Jays fans) John Tavares and Ryan Strome relive Toronto's ALDS comeback

NY Islanders Tavares and Strome talk Blue Jays, ALCS

One of the coolest things about the Blue Jays' wild ride to the ALCS is the extent to which not just a city or a state, but an entire country has rallied around Toronto -- from adorable mini-Bautistas to suit legend Don Cherry to actual halls of government

When it comes to love for the Jays, though, it doesn't get anymore diehard than New York Islanders John Tavares and Ryan Strome. Both players grew up in Mississauga, just outside Toronto, and while the NHL's regular season is in full swing, that hasn't stopped them from living and dying with every pitch. They even held their very own watch party for the heartstopping Game 5 of the ALDS against the Rangers, and when we caught up with the two after practice on Thursday to talk about that wild seventh inning and the team's postseason run, they just so happened to be sporting their finest Blue Jays swag.

So click play on the video at the top of the post as Tavares and Strome walk through all the ups, downs and bloopers of that amazing night, and finally put to rest that age old question: To bat flip, or not to bat flip? (You can probably guess which side they come down on.)
