Oakland fans thank their players the only way they know how -- loudly
Usually when a team is knocked out of the playoffs, players hang their heads and return to their clubhouse, while their fans quietly leave the stadium and sulk all the way home. But when you have a team like the A’s, who's 2012 season can only be described as magical, you shouldn't expect their season to end in any sort of generic way.
On Thursday night, when the A's season finally ended at the hands of the Tigers, the fans in Oakland wanted to give a little thanks to their team. And boy did they ever. WIth a long standing ovation followed by loud chants of "Let's go Oakland!," the team stayed on the field, hugged each other and waved to its fans.
The magic lives on in Oakland.
