On Devon White's birthday, we remember his unbelievable, home run-robbing catch

On this day, 52 years ago, a quintessential 1990s ballplayer was thrust upon this Earth:

White

Devon White, one of just four MLBers to ever hail from Jamaica, put together an excellent 17 years in the Majors. He made three All-Star teams, compiled more than 200 HRs/300 steals and won three World Series titles in a six-year period ('92, '93 Blue Jays, '97 Marlins). In 211 postseason plate appearances, Devo hit .296/.365/.450 with three home runs, four triples, 20 RBIs and seven steals.

But fantastic defense is probably what keeps White embedded deep within our 90's baseball nostalgia. The center fielder won seven Gold Gloves and is 83rd all-time in defensive WAR. And as a member of the Blue Jays in 1994, he made one of the greatest catches you'll ever see:

Expert thievery at its finest.

Happy Birthday, Devon. Here's to many more.
