On National Hat Day, here are 10 classic MLB cap designs
10 classic cap designs for National Hat Day

Baseball is one of those occupations - along with construction worker and fireman, to name a couple -- that requires you to wear a hat to the office.
So in honor of National Hat Day, we wanted to highlight some of the game's most beloved headwear. Let us know what you think of our choices, leave your favorites in the comments and tell your boss that you're wearing your hat today and there's nothing he or she can do about it.
Let's start it off with the Brooklyn Dodgers. Simple, clean and chock full of history.
Next, we have the Orioles and their cartoon bird. It's a style they sported from 1966-89 and brought back again in 2012 because, let's face it, baseball is fun and what's fun without cartoon birds on caps?
And of course, we had to include the Expos who have seen their logo reemerge as a hipster-chic fashion statement in recent years.
The Padres used this logo from 1980-84 and it really seemed to fit their laid-back SoCal feel. It also helped them win the NL pennant in that final season. Probably.

Straightforward blue and white with the Detroit "D" on the front. A quiet confidence -- just like the 2013 MVP.
One of the coolest logos in baseball history, the Brew Crew's yellow and blue mitt symbol was worn by the likes of Robin Yount and Paul Molitor from 1978-93. Carlos Gomez and his teammates now sport the insignia on throwback occasions each season.

More cartoon birds ...
The Royals put a lighter spin on their traditional mid-blue color scheme by bringing out these alternates in 2009.
The Cards have sported this white-on-red design since 1940 and, yeah, eight World Series titles in that span say we shouldn't expect a change any time soon.
Unchanged and unchallenged, the Yankees' interlocking NY cap has remained the same from Ruth to Jeter.
