The job of a third base coach seems wonderful at first glance--waving home runners, putting up the stop sign, tossing foul balls to ecstatic little kids. A second look, however, reveals that the gig is occasionally apt subject matter for Josh Temple and Co.
One such instance occurred on Tuesday when Padres third base coach Glenn Hoffman couldn't get out of the way of a screaming liner off the bat of Yangervis Solarte.
Oof. That's gonna leave a mark. Better work on that "olé" over the offseason, huh?
