Paul Rudd and Eric Stonestreet celebrate the Royals' World Series run and Steve Balboni's forearms

Rudd and Stonestreet celebrate Royals' WS run

Actors Paul Rudd and Eric Stonestreet haven't had the easiest time being Royals fans. While following a team that hadn't been to the postseason for 29 years, Rudd became accustomed to people saying "Oh, that's cute" when learning of his particular affiliation.

As for Modern Family's Stonestreet, when the Royals went into a brief late-season swoon, he had a hard time not falling back on "29 years of pessimism."

But thanks to a torrid finish that saw the Royals go 34-21 over the season's last two months before ratting off eight consecutive postseason victories, Kansas City has become the heart of the baseball world. Said Rudd, "That communal part of cheering, it's the best. It's one of those kind of things that makes you forget about all the cynicism and irony."

Which is probably what led to Rudd inviting all of K.C. over to his Mom's place after the Royals clinched the AL pennant.

Stonestreet also talked Royals on Wednesday's edition of Intentional Talk on MLB Network. Along with revealing his secret history as a high school and college shot putter, he discussed his favorite Royals like Willie Wilson, U.L. Washington and, most importantly, Steve Balboni's killer forearms.
