In 1996, Pedro Martinez flipped the script and charged the mound against the Phillies

On Sept. 24, 1996, the cleat was on the other foot when Phillies pitcher Mike Williams threw inside on Pedro. Martinez had hit Gregg Jeffries earlier in the contest, forcing the outfielder to leave the game early. So, when Pedro attempted to lay down a sacrifice bunt in his next at bat, Williams threw hard enough and inside enough to elicit a warning from umpire Frank Pulli.

Welp, the next pitch went behind Pedro, who proceeded to charge the mound and, ahem, discard his helmet in the process.

Both bullpens and benches emptied, and Curt Schilling became heavily involved. Williams, Phillies manager Jim Fregosi, Martinez and Schilling were all ejected for their troubles, and the Expos went on to win, 6-2
