Phillies fan loses Maikel Franco's first homer ball, gets a free T-shirt from the broadcast booth

Souvenir scuffle ends in free T-shirt

Maikel Franco hit his first big league home run in the eighth inning of Sunday's D-backs-Phillies game -- extending Philadelphia's lead to 5-0. It was all smiles for Franco and his teammates after the solo blast, but in the stands where the souvenir landed, there was a bit of impoliteness at hand. A woman appeared to have a clear path to the ball until another fan came running in to snatch it up.

Phillies fans have had some bright moments this season. They welcomed back Shane Victorino in April and witnessed one of history's great Mother's Day presents just a week ago. But they'll probably want to put this fan's aggressive souvenir hunting behind them. Maybe that guy was running to give the ball to Franco's family? Maybe he thought it was the last marble rye left in the bread shop?
